Aishwarya Rai unsure about doing item number in 'Houseful

Rumours were rife that Aishwarya Rai will dance to the tunes of hit number "Apni toh jaise taise", which was originally picturised on her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, in Sajid Khan's "Houseful". But sources close to her say that she is yet to accept the offer.

"Aishwarya Rai has been approached by Sajid Khan but she has yet to revert back to them. She is busy with the shooting of 'Guzaarish', 'Action Replay' and 'Endhiran'," Aishwarya Rai's spokesperson told IANS.

Recent media reports suggested that Sajid Nadiadwala had bought the rights of the song, which is from the 1981 blockbuster "Laawaris" and that he had approached Aishwarya Rai for it.

If at all the actress agrees to do the item number, it would be her third in over a decade-long career. In the past, she featured in item numbers like "Ishq kamina" and "Kajra re" - both the songs have been iconic in their own sense.

While in "Ishq kamina", she teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan, "Kajra re" saw her with Amitabh and Abhishek.
Meanwhile, according to a report in a Mumbai daily, Sushmita Sen has been finalised for this number, which will be choreographed by Sajis’s sister Farah Khan and will appear just before the film’s climax.

Along with Sushmita, the song will feature Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Riteish Deshmukh . Aki Narula will be designing Sushmita's sexy look in it.

Rai has been the most popular face of Indian cinema globally. In 2004 she was chosen by Time magazine as one of the World's "100 Most Influential People",and appeared on the cover of Time magazine, Asia Edition in 2003.In October 2004 a wax figure of Rai was put on display in London's Madame Tussaud's wax museum.she was the 6th Indian and the second Bollywood personality after her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan to get this honour.
